Garchumuk is located at the confluence of River Hoogly and an Irrigation Canel Comming from River Damodar. The spot offering spectacular view of the river Hooghly is gradually emerging as a popular tourist destination.The prime attraction of Garchumuk is the beautiful barrage called Atanna Gate, where 58 lock gates have been built.

It is 60KMs off kolkata and takes around 2.5 hours to reach. Avail a bus heading to Gadiara from Esplanade, and drop down at the '58 Gate' stop. You can also drive along National Highway 6 to Uluberia, turn left and take the local road to reach Garchumuk. South Eastern Railway's EMU service from Howrah connects Uluberia in around 45 minutes. From there jeeps, buses, cars, and Trekkers provide connectivity to Garchumuk.

Gadiara, the far point of  the district at the confluence of River Hooghly, river Damodar and River rupnarayan is close by.
